Confirming his position as America's number one sex advice guru, Seattle's own Dan Savage is working on a pilot with none other than MTV.

If you're of a specific generation and lifestyle and are anything like us, Dan Savage is probably a more formative figure on your conceptualization of adult sexuality than either of your parents. His influential Savage Love column is syndicated in dozens of papers across the globe, the It Gets Better Project' went beyond viral last year, he regularly appears on television news programs as an outspoken if not controversial gay rights activist and he lectures at universities across the nation.

His lectures are the inspiration for the program, and the pilot has been ordered by MTV. The format will be him taking questions from an audience. We had the pleasure of seeing Savage speak at our alma mater as an undergrad, and if the show is half as good as that it'll be sure to be picked up for a good long while. It's got lasting power for sure, who doesn't love snarky and informative quips about fisting and three-some and S&M and all the other dirty sexy things that people do behind closed (and/or open) doors.

MTV is currently embattled in a public relations struggle over it's controversial new show 'Skins', and this confirms the network is never afraid to get sexy.

You're a long way from commingling with the escort ads on the back pages of early Stranger issues, sir and here's to hoping our hometown boy (yeah, yeah Chicago we know he's originally from there, but he chose us and that's what matters) keeps doing us proud and continues spreading the gospel of good, smart sex.
