Amos Lee at Moore Theater Tonight!

amos-lee.jpg Amos Lee is still a somewhat unknown name, but he has been on tour with some greats. Considering his youthfulness, it's quite surprising that he's opened for the likes of Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews Band, and Paul Simon. Much of his influence comes from folk and blues with a dash of jazz thrown in. He's a storyteller with quite a beautiful voice to tell them. He has a new album coming out on the 25th of this month that promises to be the best yet. With guest vocalists including Willie Nelson and Lucinda Williams as well as Calexico doing the backing music. We're really excited about that last bit of news, Calexico and Amos Lee would seem to fit together like pees in a pod. Beautiful melodic tones and a sweet voice to top it off; sounds like the best musical sundae imaginable. Tonight he's going to serenade Seattle with his dulcet tones at the Moore, and trust us--you'll be sorry if you miss out.

Along with Amos, special guest Vusi Mahlasela will be gracing the Moore's stage. He has a similar storytelling vibe as Amos, but with quite a different feel. Vusi is from South Africa and lived through years of Apartheid and has come out the other side of things with hope. His lyrical voice shines with these forward-thinking and positive feelings. He was first recognized in the states for his part in the film Amandla! and was then wooed by Dave Matthews own ATO records. He released his first full-length in the states in 2007 and only two days ago released a high-anticipated second album, Say Africa. This show will surely be a night to remember.
