30 SECONDS TO JARED LETO: Movie star turned rock star, Jared Leto is going to be playing at the Paramount tonight with his band 30 Seconds to Mars. For those who slept through the 90s and/or early aughts, Jared Leto is best remembered as the hot, unattainable, and illiterate Jordan Catalano of My So Called Life and as a heroin addict in Requiem For A Dream. But forget all that, he's a rock star now. To be perfectly frank, we're not really sure what his band sounds like, except that we've read the word "screamo" used to describe their sound; they have collaborated with Kanye West; and they have a new album, This Is War. But OMG, remember when he was Jordan Catalano? Is he still a hottie? According to a quick Google search, yes. Also according to this quick Google search, Leto is almost 40. Mind = blown.

KISS OF DEATH:Seattle Repertory Theatre is preparing to run their new show The K And D, Urban Legend. Tonight is the last night of their preview performances where audience members are invited to be a part of the creative process as they get to see the show as it's still being fine-tuned. It starts with a pre-show chat about the play and its particular challenges. In Laura Schellhardt's one-person drama, actress Renata Friedman portrays the dozen or so characters and brings an entire town to life in a ghost story about a small-town girl with a deadly kiss.

SLAMMIN': Each Tuesday night at Re-Bar the Seattle Poetry Slam hosts an evening jam packed with word-y goodness. Here's how the night goes: 8:30 pm starts the open mic portion, then a featured poet takes the stage at 9 pm (tonight the featured poet is Lauren Zuniga) and at 10 p.m. the poetry war also known as the "slam" begins. The rules for the slam are simple: 1. Poets must perform their own original work; 2. No props, costumes or musical accompaniment; and 3. Poets have three minutes to perform their piece. Each poet earns a score between 0 and 10 awarded by randomly-picked judges from the audience. Scores are based on content, originality and performance. The winning poets get prizes and a chance at representing Seattle on the national and international level. Prepare yourself for a battle royale of words and poems and thoughts and feelings.
