David Sedaris Comes to Benaroya in May...

SquirrelChipmunk.jpg ...and if we know Seattleites, this event will sell out.

When David Sedaris comes to town, it's a big deal, cause it only happens about once a year. Tickets for the single-evening event at Benaroya Hall, presented by NWAA and The Stranger, went on sale last month, and it would behoove you to get a move on and grab some (before everyone else does).

Sedaris is expected to read from his newest book, a collection of fables entitled Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary. It was published in September 2010, although Sedaris' wry tale of doomed squirrel-chipmunk love hit This American Life airwaves as early as 2006. Anyways, should be a good time - have fun, you crazy kids.

May 1, 7 p.m. // Benaroya Hall, 200 University St. // $38 or $47, tickets available through the Benaroya Hall Box Office, at 206.215.4747, or online

"His stuff is kind of funny, but white people go crazy and will pay hundreds of dollars to hear him read from his own book. Let me say that again, they will pay money to see someone read from a book they have already read. They know the jokes are coming, they know the punch lines, but they feel the need to hear the author actually say it."
