McGinn's Seahawks-Saints Bet: No 'Ride the S.L.U.T.' T-Shirt?
Yesterday news circulated of Mayor Mike McGinn's wager with New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu over Saturday's Saints-Seahawks playoffs game. The items McGinn is laying on the line: a pound of smoked salmon; a dozen Top Pot maple bars and some yet-undefined "music from the Seattle scene."
For the record, Landrieu's wager includes some gulf seafood, king cake and the "Treme" soundtrack.
Think Mayor Mike McGinn just pulled this list of items half-assedly out of no where? You'd be wrong.
Here are some other Seattle-centric items we're fairly certain he considered throwing into the pot:
- MTV Unplugged...Nirvana
- Music from the hit movie musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
- A package delivered via UPS
- One order of chicken strips from Ezell's Fried Chicken
- A Vin Baker Sonics Jersey
- A Ride the S.L.U.T. T-shirt
- A ticket to "James Brown: Funk Blast" at the EMP
- An REI down vest
- Paul Schell commemorative plate set
- A tunnel to the Space Needle
- Jones Soda six-pack
- Windows 3.1 in its original packaging
- A dollar
Clearly, confidence is sky high. Way to represent, Mayor Mike!
