Vera Project 10 Years in Photos: Day 5

Seattlest is excited to celebrate Vera Project's 10th Anniversary with an archival photo from the venue's history every day in January. They are all leading up to the exciting Gala and Show being held at the end of the month. More details on that soon, trust me you'll want to know about this party.

In 2002 Vera moved to its first full-time space in the old Annex Theatre in downtown Seattle. An army of volunteers transformed the dilapidated 2nd-story space into a music venue, art gallery, silkscreen studio and office for Vera. It was in this space that Vera began to coalesce into an organization devoted not only to all-ages shows, but also to music and art-based education and youth leadership. Vera also diversified its funding beyond the initial City investment, receiving support from Sub Pop Records, the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, the Seattle Foundation and countless individuals who believed in all-ages music.
