Countdown in photos: Day 27

Seattlest will be counting down to 2011 with a series of posts on our highlights of this year and what we're looking forward to in the next. Got a list to suggest? Send it our way. See the entire series here.

The City Arts Music Festival brought us so many amazing shows. To be honest, I kept asking myself how the hell they managed to secure so many killer acts the likes of The Weepies, Belle and Sebastian, Gogol Bordello, and the Vaselines. That last show is where today's shot was captured. The local band, The Young Evils, started out the night. I was excited to see them since I'd heard such great things, and I'm definitely a fan now; it's kind of obvious since I put the two lead singers in my top ten sexiest local musicians list for this year (first they had to be talented, then they had to be hot... artists become infinitely less attractive if they suck).

The Dum Dum girls were the middle act, and again I didn't know much about the band. The second they walked on stage with their long legs, short outfits and gothic makeup you had a sneaking suspicion they'd at least put on an interesting show. I really liked the music and they were just hardcore. All the guys were drooling while rocking out... it was an interesting sight. I just had a really good time shooting them, their outfits made for eye candy and easy shots. The Vaselines (the closer) were amazing too. They were goofy and fun but a little stale on stage (and by that I mean they didn't move around a whole lot or make use of the space they had). The show was a lot of fun and I came out of it with some great photos.
