Countdown in photos: Day 24
Seattlest will be counting down to 2011 with a series of posts on our highlights of this year and what we're looking forward to in the next. Got a list to suggest? Send it our way. See the entire series here.
One of the most beautiful shows I've seen all year was Sufjan Stevens at the Paramount. It was completely sold out and really difficult to get a photo pass for in the first place. I was starting to feel rotten before the show began, but as soon as the curtain went up and the soft purple and white neon-like lights came up, I forgot all about my complaints. Sufjan was revealed with wings and shiny silver pants; if it were almost anyone else I would have rolled my eyes at something like that. For some reason, the ecstasy party-styled lighting went perfectly with his gorgeous voice and backing music. I was really disappointed when I had to be ushered out after the third song. Later I heard from several friends that the show was even more beautiful as the night progressed, so this is one of those shows where I almost wish I was a paying customer more than a photographer. I was glad I was even able to see the first three songs. Pure eye candy.
