NO WHAMMY!: We've been following Ballard's Tom Nissley as he cuts through the competition on Jeopardy for 7 wins in a row. Alex Trebek sets 'em up, Nissley knocks 'em down. He'll be going at it again tonight, hoping for his 8th straight, and we think he's got it. We think he just might go all the way. Can one do that in Jeopardy? Go all the way? The record for consecutive Jeopardy wins was set in 2004 by one-time UW student Ken Jennings, who won 74 games. Pay attention, there might be a quiz.

CAROLING: Tonight, for anyone keeping track, is Christmas Eve Eve -- if that makes any sense. The Christmas rush is nearly through, and if your greeting cards have not been sent, well, it's too late to worry about that. While the 24th is generally reserved for time with family and last minute gift wrapping, the 23rd offers a little more leeway, and what better way to spend some extra time than taking in that holiday classic A Christmas Carol In its 35th anniversary at ACT Theatre, Dickens' tale is thee timeless Christmas tale. It's a little bit weird, very spirited, hopeful, and redemptive. ACT does it as well as anyone else.

D'LIGHTFUL: Sometimes Lake Washington feels as wide as the Atlantic Ocean. We don't make it to Bellevue often. But the Bellevue Botanical Garden's annual holiday offering Garden D'Lights (it's a light show, see?) is something worth crossing the water for. Over half a million lights create colorful displays of waterfalls, glowing plants and aquarium animals, blinking and floating around in an Alice in Wonderland scene come to life.
