Countdown in Photos: Day 22

Seattlest will be counting down to 2011 with a series of posts on our highlights of this year and what we're looking forward to in the next. Got a list to suggest? Send it our way. See the entire series here.

I was a kid of the 80's/90's and I fully admit to loving New Kids on the Block, Milli Vanilli, and many other embarrassing bands in my formidable years. My tastes have changed over and over again from goth, to emo, and finally to the fine-cultured taste of today. I fully expect to continue evolving, but there are always some bands that will bring back great memories and because of that, sound amazing no matter what. One of those bands in my world that brought a blast from the past is Everclear. I couldn't believe that they were going to play our small Columbia City Theater. To top things off, they would be recording a record and dvd at the show.

As time grew closer to the show, I was asked if I wanted to interview Art Alexakis. I almost keeled over right then and there. I am horrible at interviews whether they be over the phone or in person. Somehow, though, I made it through and he was a super nice guy. It gave the show that much more context and personal connection. It was an amazing evening and they played for at least a couple hours. In such a small venue with a crowd of true fans, there's just nothing like it.
