Countdown in Photos: Day 20

Seattlest will be counting down to 2011 with a series of posts on our highlights of this year and what we're looking forward to in the next. Got a list to suggest? Send it our way. See the entire series here.

One of the single greatest experiences I've had in my life was spending time in Dublin, Ireland for a month. It truly felt like home. However, months before when I was planning on heading to the green isle, I was attempting to plan my visit around a particular band's performance. I was hoping against hope that the Frames would be playing in their hometown at some point during the summer. Unfortunately due to the fame of the Swell Season and their tireless schedule, the Frames were on a permanent hiatus. Or so I thought. I found out while I was there that they were planning to play that very month. To my horror they were set to play near the apartment I was staying in not 2 weeks after I had to leave. I couldn't believe it!

Luckily, my life took an amazing turn allowing me to photograph musicians up close and personal. Amazingly, the Frames are now back together in full force and visited Seattle almost exactly a month ago. I was adamant about getting a photo pass, I would not let another opportunity to see them slip through my fingers. It was in my top five shows of the year, without a doubt. I know I said this about the Toadies as well, but it was one of the best shows I've ever seen at the Showbox Market. The floors may not have been bouncing with enthusiasm, but an incredible set and two encores later I was utterly blown away. It was definitely worth the wait.
