Buzzov*en Brings its Sludge to Seattle

Buzzoven Tour Poster.jpg Coming to Seattle the for the first time in several years is Buzzov*en and they are bringing their sludge metal sounds to the intimate Fun House tonight. The band is hitting the west coast after a nine-year hiatus to warm up both fingers and vocals before some larger appearances on the horizon. After some Myspace tracks tickled our Seattlest eardrums, we became bewitched over the almost The Melvins-estic sound they produce. Digging around I found this quote from Exclaim that could sum up an exact preview of what’s to come:

“Buzzov*en left bloody noses, broken mic stands, and irate club owners in their wake, in what has been.”

With album names like Welcome to Violence and Hate Box, it’s safe to expect a rowdy show.

Also appearing tonight is our own Akimbo. Fresh off touring Japan, they’re once again performing in their own backyard. These guys have been at it since 1998. The original members Jon Weisnewski and Nat Damm first met in high school while they noticed each other’s home-made punk shirts. Since then, they’ve had several guitar players rotate through before having Aaron Walters join them since 2006 for a 10-day west coast swing. We anticipate their their high-energy hardcore/punk music will seriously amp up the crowd—as if they weren’t amped up already for being the weekend.
