Restaurants: What's Opening/What's Closing
December continues to be absurdly busy on the restaurant front.
- Seattle Magazine's Eat + Drink blog is breaking all sorts of news: Marination Mobile is going bricks-and-mortar with a space in the Harvard Market building that houses QFC on the Pike/Pine corridor. Is that not enough for you? How about details on the location of Maria Hines' second restaurant?
- The former Revo Cafe is becoming a Pacific Northwest "casual fine dining" restaurant called Avalon. West Seattle Herald says the restaurant is shooting for a Wednesday opening and Sheehan has thoughts on the menu too.
- Malaysian spot Satay is officially open in the Wallingford space that housed Avila for all of 45 seconds.
- Greenwood's Romio's Pizza & Pasta is going independent, heretofore known as Razzi's Pizzeria as of January 2. They're keeping the gluten-free menu.
- West African spot Afrikando Afrikando has closed in Hillman City but owner Jacques Sarr says he's looking for a new spot.
- Capitol Hill Seattle reports that Shinka Tea on Olive Way is turning into a speakeasy-style spot called Tommy Gun, courtesy of Erin Nestor from BottleNeck Lounge. It's due to open in March.
- Seattle Met has some details on High 5 Pie, opening (fingers crossed) later this month.
