Come and Watch the Pretty Lights Friday at Showbox Sodo

What do Bill Gates, Rick Allen, André 3000 and Derek Vincent Smith all have in common? You give up? All college dropouts. If Smith’s name doesn’t ring a bell, you may know him as the performer Pretty Lights. He’s stopping by Showbox SoDo with his infectious phat beats on Friday night after contaminating Salt Lake City two nights prior.

Pretty Lights has only been really at it for the past two years (he started in ‘06 but wasn’t full time until he dropped out of school) but already managed to release three albums and perform at over seven festivals this year including Coachella. Mixing up the use of analog drums, keys, mixing board, multiple displays of visuals and lastly, a constant laser show, Pretty Lights should not disappoint. My hips have moved more in the past 20 minutes of writing this post than the last six months.
