Elephant Art and Raptor Photo Ops at Friday's Silent Action for Woodland Park Zoo

Elephant_Watoto_Painting_Ryan_Hawk.JPG With the holidays rapidly approaching, thus begins the search for the perfect gift. Rather than underwhelming your loved ones with tube socks and Snuggies, why not give them an unforgettable gift experience. Woodland Park Zoo’s Holiday Silent Auction Friday gives you a rare opportunity to bid on unique gifts like a photo op with a raptor or a one-on-one meeting with an orangutan. Channel your inner zoo keeper to go behind the scenes to watch an elephant bathe, or bid on original artwork created by the zoo’s talented animal artists.

Hosted by the Puget Sound Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (PS-AAZK) proceeds will support the advancement of the zookeeping profession while aiding animal and habitat conservation projects around the world.

Friday, noon-3 p.m. (bidding, lunch and bake sale) 4-8 p.m. (silent auction, dinner and cash beer/wine bar) // Woodland Park Zoo Education Center: N. 50th St. & Fremont Ave. N. // FREE (zoo access requires standard admission fees)
