A self-published book handily entitled The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure: A Child-Lover's Code of Conduct is available as an ebook in Amazon's Kindle store, sparking outrage from all sorts of corners.

Plenty of angry Twitter folk are calling for the book's banning and threatening to boycott the retail giant. Others applaud the company for sidestepping an opportunity to play censor.

According to SeattlePI.com:

The author of "The Pedophile's Guide," listed as Philip R. Greaves II, argues that pedophiles are misunderstood, as the word literally means to love a child. The author adds that it is only a crime to act on sexual impulses toward children, and offers advice that purportedly allows pedophiles to abide by the law.

However the official description on the ebook page is decidedly more creepy (and grammatically painful):

This is my attempt to make pedophile situations safer for those juveniles that find themselves involved in them, by establishing certian rules for these adults to follow. I hope to achieve this by appealing to the better nature of pedosexuals, with hope that their doing so will result in less hatred and perhaps liter sentences should they ever be caught.

Meanwhile, one-star ratings abound for the book. According to this L.A. Times article, the $4.95 book's sales ranking shot up from 158,221 to 5,668 this afternoon.

Well go figure, contraversial subject, media hype, public protest and boom, sales go up, making said writer of contraversial subject material a rich guy. Now where's the logic in that?
