A&E Odds 'n Ends
- The Seattle Public Library will be hosting a free performance of 'Stomp' from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28 in the Norcliffe Foundation Living Room (Central Library). The event will be hosted in conjunction with the Seattle Theatre Group, who will be bringing 'Stomp' to the Paramount Theatre November 9 -14.
- Principal dancer Ariana Lallone will be leaving Pacific Northwest Ballet at the end of the 2010-2011 season, following a 24-year career with the company. Says Artistic Director Peter Boal, "We hope all of her many admirers will be with us throughout the season as we look for ways to honor Ariana’s glorious career and celebrate her truly unique imprint on PNB."
- The 5th Avenue Theatre has received several nominations this year from Theater Puget Sound’s Gregory Awards, an annual event celebrating theatre in Washington State. Last season’s production of Candide received nominations in six categories, while 5th Avenue Casting Associate and Artistic Project Manager Brandon Ivie received a People’s Choice nomination for his work with his own company Contemporary Classics.
- Congrats to local contemporary performance venue On the Boards, the recent recipient of a $500,000 grant from the Kresge Foundation. Funds from the grant will go towards supporting the OtB facility.
- Artist Trust's $25,000 Arts Innovator Award, supported by The Dale and Leslie Chihuly Foundation, is given annually to two Washington State artists. Congrats to the two recipients of the 2010 Arts Innovator Award, Leo Berk and Margie Livingston.
