Mindbender Mansion: So Fun You Might Forget You're Using Your Brain
Weave your way through a lost world of dinosaurs, down a path that will lead you to the moon. Wave to the whales on your left, before you approach the house in the distance. This is no ordinary house. In fact, it's a mansion, Mindbender Mansion, and it is full to the brim with puzzles and brain busters to please both quiz masters and their reluctant friends.
Mindbender Mansion is the home to the Mindbender Society and their quirky leader Mister E. And, starting tomorrow, the Pacific Science Center is giving visitors an opportunity to join this puzzling group's ranks. Solve brainteasers on your own or grab some friends (strangers will do just as well) for a variety of activities that require teamwork. Collect clues throughout the exhibit to see if you can make it on the Wall of Fame, and ultimately walk home with a certificate proving your membership in this illustrious society.
Now, before you go thinking that this exhibit is just for kids, we'll go ahead and let you know you're wrong. The puzzles and activities in this exhibit range from easy to incredibly challenging. There are moments where you will lose yourself in the excitement of some of the more physically taxing brainteasers and forget that you're actually learning something. It is rare to find an exhibit that can be so fun and authentically satisfying for kids and adults of all ages. Just remember to let the little guys have a chance on the bumper cars too (yes, we said bumper cars.)
Through January 2, hours vary Pacific Science Center // 200 2nd Avenue North // $10-$17
