Dwight Schrute’s Alter-Ego Rainn Wilson Comes Home

When asked to explain himself, “The Office’s” Dwight K. Shrute replies, “How would I describe myself? Three words: hard working, alpha male, jackhammer…merciless…insatiable…” That just about sums up the character’s distorted and hilarious vision of himself. In reality? The guy’s a total nerd with a terrible haircut and incapacity to comprehend basic human relations. And that’s why we love him. Through all the absurdity and surveillance and pranks, Dwight’s cluelessness shines through light a blinding, awkward beam of sunlight. And now you have the chance to see the man behind those brown suits in person! That’s right, Seattle-born Rainn Wilson is coming home for a special, fundraising event.

On October 23 you can catch Rainn Wilson and Friends at The Paramount Theatre. The event will also feature fellow Officer Craig Robinson, Andy Grammer, Sean Nelson and Seattle’s own The Presidents of the United States of America. The guys are coming together for some highly anticipated wise cracks, bumpin’ beats and to raise some cash for the MONA Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports grassroots educational, women and children's initiatives across the world.

You can also catch Wilson at a couple free events preceding the night of festivities. He’s hosting a philosophical discussion with students about his passion for service at the Paramount from 2:00-2:25 pm. He will also be partnering with skincare company, Keihl’s Since 1851, at their grand opening in Bellevue Square to accept a check of $1,500 donated to MONA. What a busy and productive day.

Explains Dwight, “Before I do anything I ask myself ‘Would an idiot do that?’ And if the answer is yes, I do not do that thing.” Follow in Dwight’s footsteps and don’t be an idiot. Attend this event. Tickets are now on sale. Crossbows and nun chucks probably not welcome.

OCTOBER 23, 2010 // THE PARAMOUNT THEATRE // $27.50
