Elliott Bay Book Company Named A Fave U.S. Bookstore

Elliott Bay Book Company gets no shortage of love from locals (including us here at Seattlest) for its cozy environs, eclectically stocked bookshelves, friendly and knowledgeable staff, stellar events lineup, and fiercely indie spirit. Swoon. The love affair went national last week after Flavorwire named Elliott Bay Book Company to its list of top ten favorite bookstores in the country. It's a piece that's meant to commemorate the death of the bookstore—thanks to the advent of e-books and to competing media like video games and the Interwebs—but luckily there’s never any shortage of bibliophiles lining the aisles at Elliott Bay, and with continued good press chances are we’ll have our beloved book haven around for many moons to come.

But on the off chance you want a change of literary scenery, take a gander at beauty of bookshelves from around the world here.
