Palin to Rescue Didier from Dawdle on Rossi Endorsement?
"Man I wish I could go back in time... I'd take state."
After U.S. Senate Candidate Clint Didier lost to fellow republican Dino Rossi in Washington’s primary this month, Didier did what any classy candidate in the same party would do: he staged a press conference refusing to support Rossi. Didier is requesting Rossi cave to three specific wishes, magic genie-style, before he’ll anoint Rossi with the support of his legions of fans (7.7% of primary voters). There’s just one problem with Didier's non-endorsement plan and it's coming from the queen of absurd post-election rhetoric herself, Sarah Palin.
Rumors are circulating that U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, a Sarah Palin-endorsed and anointed mama grizzly, will ask Palin to put the pressure on Didier to get over his three demands and step in line with the party. Palin may have some sway, as it was she who brought national attention to the race with her endorsement of Didier months ago. No word on exactly how she will end this squabble, but we hope for her daughter’s sake that it doesn’t involve Didier-esque hunky jock Levi Johnston.
Meanwhile, Didier’s former primary Republican BFF Paul Akers (1.84%) had no problem endorsing Rossi. In a letter announcing his endorsement, Akers argued that conservatives facing incumbent democratic Senator Patty Murray must: “unite and not allow our opponent to have even one more day to relish in any division that is amongst us.” It remains to be seen if Palin can the become the magic genie that unites the party, but for the moment Didier continues to dawdle.
