Pre-sale tickets for Arcade Fire’s return to Seattle on September 29th at the Key Arena, with the likes of Arizonian folksters Calexico, were made available for purchase today at 10 a.m., via any Ticketmaster outlet.

The Canadian seven-piece band throw darker and more subversive subject matter in their newest release, aptly entitled ‘The Suburbs,’ an album which would almost sound like a PDA to warn kids of the danger that comes with growing up too fast, if it wasn’t for the melodic and chaotic mix of accompanying backing sound that the band provides. String-heavy at some points, throbbing beat electro at others, The Suburbs' doom-tinged themes of bleak cities, empty streets, muted lives (“they heard me singing and they told me to stop/quit these pretentious things and just punch the clock” Regine Chassagne sings sweetly on one of the more uplifting, Bowie-esq tracks) use the damage of boredom and isolation, as well as the fear of a purposeless existence as a number in a line, to create a 16-track album that we can’t wait to hear the translation of live.

Wednesday, September 29th at the Key Arena // 7:30 p.m. // $40
