Help Hollow Earth Radio Get A Home of Their Own

HER logo.jpg Seattle loves our radio. From the multiple NPR affiliates to the venerable KEXP, ours is a city that likes to dial in and jam out. The web-based DJs at Hollow Earth Radio are just one great example of the amazing airwaves of Seattle, and they need our help.

Hollow Earth Radio is an internet based station run by an all volunteer staff that has been broadcasting out of basements and attics for the last three and a half years. But no more! They are all set to upgrade to permanent digs in the Central District where a place to call home will allow them to provide more live free-form DJing with music from the Northwest in mind, more volunteer opportunities, more live in-studios, and more space to set up youth field recording workshops and community events. Sounds good doesn’t it? It is. Or, it will be if they can raise the $3,500 they need to get their new home company-ready. They’ve got quite a bit of renovation to do, from simple painting and cleaning to the more heavy duty work of building a sound booth and turning their new digs into a genuine broadcasting headquarters. To make this all happen, they need a little bit of dough from you, gentle radio listener, and they've teamed up with internet fundraising site Kickstarter to let the dollars roll in. Kickstarter will manage the campaign, but as with all Kickstarter projects, the catch is that Hollow Earth Radio doesn’t get any money unless the goal is met. So the heat is on!

Check out the station's Kickstarter profile which will explain how (and in case we haven’t sold it, why) you should donate. It also explains the awesome thank yous Hollow Earth Radio is offering in returning for your support. There will be ice cream. You’ve got 45 days Seattle, let’s do this!
