SIFF Midnight Adrenaline Preview - RoboGeisha

SIFF's Midnight Adrenaline program has quite a long history of showing absolutely bizarre movies from Japan, and this year is definitely no exception.

RoboGeisha, the latest from the filmmakers behind The Machine Girl and Tokyo Gore Police, is the story of two geisha sisters who are abducted by an an evil businessman and turned into robot assassins. As in Machine Girl, the sisters are outfitted with a wide variety of creatively placed weapons and sent out in the world to do the one thing conflicted, young cyborg geishas do best. (Hint: It's not shopping)

As the trailer below indicates, this movie has some of the worst special effects we've seen in a film in a long time, and features geisha transforming into tanks, firing bullets from their chest Fembot style, and last but not least riding on a giant walking temple with tiny T-Rex arms.

We have absolutely no idea what any of this could possibly mean for the long-term future of world cinema, but we're pretty sure we saw a guy killed using a couple of fried shrimp, so there really isn't much of an excuse not to go. See what we mean when you check out the (NSFW) trailer below:

This looks pretty mind-blowing. By the way, my inner grammar nazi is forcing me to point out it should read "...the sisters are outfitted," not "...the sister's are outfitted." My pedantic self will now withdraw.
