Deadliest Catch: A Lot of Awesome This Weekend

For those of us that have been like giddy little school girls waiting for new episodes, the new season of Deadliest Catch is finally here! After last night we're three episodes deep...what does everyone think? If you can't get enough of those sea scoundrels, this is a pretty big weekend. Friday evening a public memorial service for the Late Captain Phil will be held at Smith Cove Cruise Terminal at Pier 91. The service starts at 6:30, and while it's open to the public space is limited to 2,000 so get there early. USA jackets are encouraged.

"Remarks will be made from Phil's sons, Jake and Josh Harris, several close friends and fellow fisherman, and Discovery Channel executives. In addition, a tribute video honoring Phil's legacy will be shown." Tribute video?! Crying already.

Continue your binge the following day with CatchCon 2010, "bringing Captains Sig Hansen, Johnathan & Andy Hillstrand and Keith Colburn together with fans for the the ultimate DEADLIEST CATCH experience." We have no idea what that actually entails, but can't wait to find out. We hope there's a "kiss-a-Hillstrand" booth! While CatchCon is a free event, unfortunately both registration and the waiting list are closed at this time. But don't fret, you can live stream both events here, and follow @DeadliestCatch for live updates and contests.

On a steel horse, I ride!
