PNB Presents DISCOVER DANCE

Since 1998 the Pacific Northwest Ballet’s DISCOVER DANCE program has been bringing dance education to students in Eastside and Seattle area schools. Fun activities like field trips to the PNB costume shop and rehearsal studios are just the beginning. These students are given the opportunity to work with PNB Teaching Artists to create their own original choreography that they can perform for the public. Even the backdrops have been designed by students in the program.

The second of this season’s community performances will be taking place this Saturday at 2 p.m. at McCaw Hall. Featuring 350 students from area elementary and middle schools including Eastgate Elementary, Graham Hill Elementary, Daniel Bagley Elementary and Alternative School #1, it is sure to be an entertaining show. Youth ages 11-15 from REACH Student Dance Group, a partnership between PNB and Spectrum Dance Theater, will also be showing off their skills at the event. As an added bonus, attendees will be able to see Company dancers performing excerpts from the PNB repertory. Be sure to come out to the DISCOVER DANCE Community Performance to support the efforts of these hardworking and talented students.

2:00 p.m. // Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, 321 Mercer Street at Seattle Center Seattle, WA 98109 // Tickets: $12
