Video: Proposed SR 99 Bored Tunnel
WSDOT released a SR 99 Bored Tunnel simulation video yesterday, part of the ongoing process to evaluate the bored tunnel alternative, recommended in January 2009, to replace the Alaskan Way Viaduct and Seawall. The simulation shows the tunnel's proposed route beneath downtown Seattle and its relation to other underground waterfront structures. Public tours of the Alaskan Way Viaduct will be held on Saturday, March 27 during the semiannual inspection. Tours will be held between 9:30 a.m. and noon. If you would like to participate, e-mail viaduct@wsdot.wa.gov or call 1-888-AWV-LINE and leave a message with your contact information.
