Good News, Bad News
The Bad News today is:
- A Kirkland medical-marijuana grower had to fend off a home invasion on Monday, shooting and critically injuring one of the three armed men who broke into his home to steal the medical marijuana he grows there.
- A man from Orting was not so lucky and died over the weekend from wounds sustained while trying to protect his medical marijuana crop.
- A family of 12 in Auburn had to evacuate when their home burned to the ground early this morning - thankfully, no one was hurt.
- More trouble for Washington banks - City Bank of Lynnwood has been told by the FDIC that it has to raise more capital or sell itself to another financial institution.
And the Good News:
- Metro drivers stand to get an added measure of security in the form of plexiglass shields designed to protect them from assault by passengers.
- The convicted felon who accidentally shot himself in Seward Park last week? Turns out he was trying to put a booby trap on his car, a task in which he failed.
- Predatory towing is about to be illegal in Washington.
- Seattle's Bullitt Foundation building promises to be among the greenest buildings ever.
