World Wide WTF: Kickstarter

This is less of a "wtf?!" and more of a "ooooh, how lovely!". Kickstarter is a service that allows artists to submit their proposals for creative projects, which can cover anything from "art, music, design (fashion, product, game, app, etc), film/video, food, journalism, and other projects that spring from the imagination." The artist sets a financial funding goal, and the community at large can browse the different project proposals and pledge financial support. If the funding goal is reached by the set date, huzah! The project is funded and gets completed. Artists retain 100% ownership over their products, and Kickstarter only takes a 5% cut. Easier access to art funding = goooood.
