Dusted Valley named Winery of the Year
Wine Press Northwest has named Dusted Valley of Walla Walla "Winery of the Year."
(Seattlest profiled the oracular Andy Perdue, publisher of Wine Press, four years ago; he's always on top of what's new in the ever-changing local wine scene.)
The formal announcement will come in the magazine's Spring 2010 issue, but the most recent mention of Dusted Valley, a few weeks ago, hinted at the honor:
Dusted Valley Vintners in Walla Walla, Wash., continues to impress us with its string of top red wines over the past several years. In our 10th annual Platinum Judging, Dusted Valley earned a unanimous Double Platinum for its 2006 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and a Platinum for its 2007 Grenache.
Dusted Valley was founded in 2003 by brothers-in-law Chad Johnson and Corey Braunel. It produces 4,000 cases of Bordeaux and Rhone style blends, Syrah, Viognier and Chardonnay. They'll continue their mantra of "sharing the good life" with friends, fans and fellow winos this weekend (March 13th) at the Dusted Valley Tasting Room in Walla Walla and March 20th at the Dusted Valley Wine Gallery in Woodinville.
