Last Weekend for Woodland Park Zoo Night Exhibit

The Woodland Park Zoo's closing the doors on its Night Exhibit this Monday. The closure comes due to budget cuts to the tune of $800,000.

It's almost like the end of high school, when friends you've known for years start to disperse. Some stay in town, some go to college somewhere far away: A few of the animals will move to other exhibits in the zoo. The bats, tamanduas, and springhaas will move to the Adaptations Building, (which reopens May 1). The rest of the Night Exhibit animals will move to other zoos.

No more first dates spent holding hands as spooky creatures coo out of the darkness. No more family outings to show kids what's really out there in the night. No more bats! We'll miss you, Night Exhibit.

This really bums me out. I personally think the night exhibit is one of the most well-designed of the entire zoo.
