Sound Off! An Underage Battle: Great Waves

Sammamish’s Great Waves take to EMP|SFM’s stage this Saturday in the final round of semi-finals for this year’s Sound! Off competition. Placing an epic rock sound over undercurrents of bluegrass and folk, Great Waves suggest salvation comes from lonely expanses, soft hums, and the keening wails of water-sogged ghosts. Nothing about their sound suggests a Pine Lake Middle School portable as an origin.

Featuring Will Holmes, Ashley Bullock, Paul Beeman, and Ryan Sprute, Great Waves competes against Candysound and Hooves and Beak, winners of semifinals 1 and 2 respectively, and a wildcard yet to be picked. Don’t get sloshed.
