GO BREAK A HEART: Nothing unites people against love like the celebration of love, or perhaps the commercial celebration of love. But who’s to say that unity against love can’t be beautiful? Nine dance artists create seven unique pieces revolving around the idea that love is not Love, and Valentine’s Day is the “most unfortunate holiday of the year.” Choreographers Wade Madsen, Crispin Spaeth, Diana Cardiff, Kristina Dillard, mouse bones (ilvs strauss/Jody Kuehner), Sara Jinks and Juliet Waller Pruzan/Stephen Hando join forces to take down the big day. Why break a leg when you can break a heart? Performances run through February 14th.

OTTER POPS: Otters get all the love. Everybody appreciates and respects them. And not only are they some of the cutest and coolest mammals around, they get heart shaped ice pops at the zoo before anyone else does. Ice pops for otters? It might be a little on the nose, but we can’t resist adorable little creatures enjoying things like people do (kinda like primates smoking cigars but much healthier). So quick! Grab your camera and head to the zoo to catch Sunny and Duncan the river otters going at their tasty Valentines. See many other zoo animals enjoying Valentine treats Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

LOVELY CLEMENTINE: For an hour today, West Seattle women’s boutique Clementine hosts its “give love, get love” benefit event for Jubilee Women’s Center. Shoppers who donate a gently used pair of shoes or handbag receive 25% off anything in the boutique marked with a red heart, including a necklace from Shirley Chiu, Jeffrey Campbell new spring shoes, Vivienne Westwood rain boots, Pour La Victoire oxfords, Pietro Bianco shoes and more. Jubilee Women’s Center provides homeless women or women at risk of becoming homeless with a place to live and rebuild their lives -- one of the few Seattle organizations serving single women without children.
