It's Easy to Trapeze at Emerald City

A few weeks ago Seattlest posted an exhaustive rundown of Our Town’s flying trapeze joints, and now whaddyaknowit, Groupon has a deal today for a two-hour trapeze class for $30 over at Emerald City Trapeze Arts (a $70 value). Ummmmm - that’s a great deal, so scoot!

Emerald City Trapeze is new to the Seattle scene as of August, and the Aerial Arts school in SODO is home to Seattle’s only indoor flying trapeze rig, housed in a 11, 600 sq. ft. Aerialdrome. Always one to want to learn everything (not enough time, not enough money), perusing the class listing at EC Trapeze makes our eyes boggle: circus arts classes like Chinese pole, hand balancing and trampoline; your standard aerial arts classes like Hoop, Aerial Silks and Static trapeze; and performance classes structured around building an act from a pocketful of tricks.

EC Trapeze also has performance projects in both Children’s Circus and the Flying Trapeze. The kiddies will spend nine weeks learning circus arts and trapeze tricks to wow/make their parents really nervous at a final performance in March. They've got Adult/Child Circus and Flying Trapeze performance projects as well, for parental overachievers.

We plan on taking a trapeze class and a tour at Emerald City Trapeze next week and will keep y’all posted.
