Shoe Meet Face

Judge Palmer Robinson probably felt as one with George Bush this morning, when a defendant removed his jail-issued shoe and threw it at him, striking him in the face. Defendant Abdi Ali Abukar was in court for a hearing on 2008 charges of robbery and burglary. Shoe-throwing is very insulting in Islamic cultures, but then it's pretty insulting in the west, too.

The judge was not hurt. Those rubber sandals you get in prison just don't pack much of a punch, you know?
