We Have Good News, We Have Bad News
The good news is:
- Mayor-to-be Mike McGinn is now Mayor-that-is Mike McGinn--he was sworn in yesterday. Video here.
- The McGinn administration has released the salary structure of their organization.
- Jan Drago will replace Dow Constantine on the King County Council. Constantine, of course, will be stepping up to the plate as King County Executive.
- The City is axing controversial East Precinct Attorney Tienney Milnor. Milnor is a longtime opponent of nightlife in Capitol Hill.
- There's a new way to get to the airport: RidePenguin lets you carpool with cabs (cabpool?).
- We welcome the first 2010 baby of Ballard.
The bad news is:
- An Oregon man has been accused of cutting the hair of three women while they rode the Trimet bus on New Year's Eve. This sort of thing has to be sexual, right?
- A Christmas ornament thief was found taking plastic penguins from a Woodinville home.
- Soundgarden is reforming. Devotees of the seminal grunge band may believe this belongs in the "good news" list, but take a second look at lead singer Chris Cornell's work in the twenty-first century should sway you otherwise:
Yeesh.
