This...is My Boomstick!

It's probably not much of an overstatement to say that Army of Darkness is the Greatest Movie That Ever Was or Ever Will Be. It's scary, it's action packed, it's funny as hell, and it stars Bruce Campbell in the role that made his career. Seriously, for a number of guys of a certain age, this is the movie that made Bruce Campbell what Gary Cooper and Steve McQueen were to generations before ours--the very epitome of masculinity, the embodiment of dudeliness on celluloid. Ash from Housewares is pretty much the ultimate in cinematic badass technology. He has a chainsaw hand that he uses to tear apart legions of ghouls and demons, beds medieval maidens like it ain't no thing, and doesn't take shit from anybody, king, knight, or hellish demonoid alike.

This is the first Midnite Madness movie of the new year coming through The Egyptian, because the people who do their programming are decent, right-thinking folks who understand that there is absolutely no better way to start a new decade of your life than by watching this movie. Do them proud and go check it out this weekend.
