Getting a Beer Gut for X-Mas: A Craft Beer Pairing, Part Two
Today, although half gone, is Christmas Eve, and if you are one of the several million out there, you suffer from last-minute shopping rage. It didn't have to come to this, but then again, who said the holidays were easy. If you are one of the lucky ones standing in a kitchen, you have no doubt a snack fetish taking hold. Here are some helpful tips on what should be in that glass while sucking down another ranch-drenched baby carrot. As always if you can't find these exact beers, you can always look for something close.
Snack Tray Assortment (see broccoli, baby carrots, cauliflower, cucumbers, or cherry tomatoes): A common find on any horizontal surface, there are several options to choose from, when it comes to brew. Greens commonly work well with something that has a more "earthy" feel to it, like a Pilsner, or earthy IPA. Try the Baron Pilsner, Big Time Scarlett Fire, Two Beers Echo IPA, or a Schooner Exact Three Grid IPA.
Black Olives: Black and salty like a haggard pirate at sea, these orbs go best with something just as acidic. Big Time Scarlett Fire, Universal Pale Ale, Pikes Pale Ale, or a Georgetown Manny's Pale Ale come to mind.
Dinner Rolls: Whole wheat, butter, or cornbread, you can't go wrong with another biscuit-like beer. Try on an Elysian ESB, Big Al Local Hero #5, Hales Cream Ale, or a Pike Tandem Brown Ale.
Check back soon, as we leave some Cream Ale for Santa.
Cheers.
