Can't Miss It: Tuesday
SEXY NUTCRACKER: Wow, saying those two words together kind of makes us feel like we're playing Apples to Apples, but in this case there is such a thing as a sexy nutcracker and it's going to be gone after Wednesday, so instead of doing last minute shopping, get down with some last minute burlesque watching! Land of the Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker is finishing up its fourth year ,featuring some of Seattle's favorite burlesque dancers such as Lily Verlaine, Jasper McCann, Kitten LaRue, Miss Indigo Blue, and the much-loved Aerialistas. Tickets are no longer being sold online but can be bought at the door, so we'd recommend getting there early--this show has been previously sold out on many occasions.
7, 10:00 p.m. // The Triple Door, 216 Union Street // Tickets: $25-40
HILARIOUS HOLIDAY CHEER: More David Sedaris fun, and honestly we can't get enough. The SantaLand Diaries, based on Sedaris' short stint as a Macy's Christmas elf, is also finishing up this week and we've heard that this play is fantastic. Directed by Makaela Pollock and featuring Andrew Litzky, it is recommended that those coming be "mature elves only" as the content is, well, Sedaris-esque. Regardless, many of you have read the same-titled essay that originally launched Sedaris' career, but for those who have not, you're in for a treat--get ready to see what a day in the life of a Christmas elf entails, and the craziness that encompasses the public during the Holidays.
7, 9:00 p.m. // The Bathhouse, 7312 W. Greenlake Dr. N. // Tickets: $15-25
TRADITIONAL HOLIDAY FUN: A Christmas Carol is playing at ACT Theatre tonight, and like the other two productions listed, this play also ends in the next week, so get in all of that Christmas fun while you can. In ACT's 34th year of putting on A Christmas Carol, this version features ACT's own Artistic Director Kurt Beattie and R. Hamilton Wright as Scrooge. Though it is a family-friendly show, ACT asks that there be "no babes in arms or children under four permitted." We can only assume that they mean crying babies rather than your girlfriends....
8:30 p.m. // ACT Theatre, 700 Union Street // Tickets: $57
