Throw Some Vitamin Ds on It

Our friends at Chicagoist are here to remind you to take your vitamin D. Vitamin D deficiencies have been linked to depression, as well as susceptibility to cancer, psoriasis, and some forms of arthritis.

Most people are vitamin D deficient, especially in the Pacific Northwest. The sun rises at 8:00 a.m and goes down at 4:30 p.m. this time of year in Seattle. That's barely eight-and-a-half potential hours of sunlight, and all of that between the hours when most people are sitting indoors. So load up on your supplements - but keep in mind that vitamin D is fat-soluble, meaning you can overdose on the stuff. And don't confuse your D's.

Remember that Vitamin D is fat-soluble which means that you can overdose on it if you take too much. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor about what dose is right for you.
