DICK DALE: 72 years old and still going strong, Dick Dale continues to ride the wave that made him a star. Arguable inventor of the classic surf sound, Dale was also a collaborator with Leo Fender, pushing guitar amps out of their clean and quiet beginnings up into 11. He is justifiably a legend. A very loud legend.

8:00 p.m. // The Triple Door // Tickets: $35

SWAP IT, SPIN IT, BRING IT, SCREEN IT: Hollow Earth Radio and The Vera Project are tag-teaming your shopping list on Saturday with a DIY marketplace featuring independent Northwest record and cassette labels, musicians, silk-screened show posters, vintage record dealers, local artists, craft-makers, and designers. Original Vera Project logos will be available to the public to silkscreen on any fabric item for $5. They don’t say this anywhere, but we bet for $10, they’ll let us logo up our neighbor’s baby. The Foghorns, 1985, June Madrona, Dashel Schueler, Iji, and World History play throughout the day while we browse slash explain ourselves.

11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. // Vera Project // Tickets: FREE

YULE BENEFIT KEXP’s eclectic programming extends further than the FM band. Case in point, Saturday’s Yule Benefit, featuring The Thermals, Cave Singers, The Builders & The Butchers, and Grand Hallway. Pop-punk, gothic bluegrass, symphonic introspection, and spare folk will share the stage and the adulation of the sold-out crowd. Expect it to get rowdy. If even Santa gets snockered, we don’t stand a chance.

Saturday 8:00 p.m. // Neumos // Tickets: $20. Advance tix sold out, but a few will be available at the door day of show.
