Can't Miss It: Thursday
FRANKINCENSE, MYRRH, AND...?: Just what happened to all that gold, anyway? If Mary and Jo-Jo came away with some high karat loot, why did they end up crashing in a smelly barn? The answer is simple, someone stole their dough, and ACT Theatre’s catechizing Sister is gonna find out who. She’ll reconstruct the nativity scene--using audience members--and gather clues from the choir as she forms her search.
8:00 p.m. // ACT Theatre // $30-$35
KEEPS ON GIVING: Another offering from the Give Seattle project, this time in the form of a benefit concert. The Give album featured a ton of local musicians and plenty of big names--Ben Gibbard and Fleet Foxes among others--and promised to donate 100% of sale proceeds to Art Corps. Tonight’s show, which brings Sub Pop groups Grand Archives and Kinski, hip hop artist D. Black, and others to The Crocodile, also gives 100% to Seattle's largest non-profit arts educator.
8:00 p.m. // The Crocodile // $15
A YACHT'S NOT A LOT: Seattle’s one and only Men’s Chorus heads to Tacoma to serenade everyone’s favorite rosy cheeked chimney saint. Carols and a musical homage to holiday TV specials make "Santa Baby" merry and possibly bright. But along with the camp comes graceful hymns such as the traditional "Silent Night." It's only a sparkling sleigh ride away.
8:00 p.m. // Pantages Theatre, 901 Broadway in Tacoma // $39 & $52
