There's a new general store in town, folks. Wait...what's a general store? We don't really know, but we're sure we've seen 'em before on Little House on the Prairie or some other historical series on TV.
Nicole Miller, the mastermind behind popular men's retailer, Blackbird, has just launched her latest project: a general store. Okay, so maybe not a real general store, but Field House, located right behind Blackbird in Ballard, is evocative of the old Western, rustic general stores, circa turn of the century. Field House carries men's and women's clothing, but keeping it consistent with the old-school theme, we found 100% wool classics like good ol' Pendelton and Filson. The long and narrow interior is full of sturdy wooden cabinets, shelves, and barrels, full of random odds and ends like various food products, but also other unpredictables like soaps, candles, tools, seashells, and perfumes...oh yeah, and charm.
Open from 10:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m., the Field House is located at 5465 Leary Avenue NW, just off Market.
