THE RISING SEA: Town Hall hosts Orrin Pilkey and Rob Young, professors and authors of The Rising Sea, tonight as the second installment of a series on sustainability issues titled Soundings From Island Press. The two will be discussing the possible consequences of sea levels rising by as much as seven feet in 2100, and how we can plan ahead for saving lives and communities in coastal cities such as Miami, New York, and New Orleans.

LINCOLN TAKES THE STAGE: Intiman Theatre presents the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Robert E. Sherwood, Abe Lincoln in Illinois. Directed by Sheila Daniels, the play reveals moments in Lincoln's earlier years, tragic first loves, and his paths chosen and persistent drive in becoming one of the most extraordinary presidents in the history of our country. God it's hard not to love Abe Lincoln!

A STRONG YET PAINFUL MEMOIR: Kay Redfield Jamison will be reading from her latest memoir, Nothing Was the Same, tonight at Elliott Bay Book Company. Jamison is most well-known for being one of the foremost American experts on bipolar disorder and for her highly-acclaimed first memoir, An Unquiet Mind. Her latest work chronicles her life with depression, her marriage to the late Dr. Richard Wyatt, and their battle against the cancer that ultimately claimed his life in 2002.
