Can't Miss It: Thursday

BOB MOULD: It's a big day for music. Tonight, Bob Mould plays Neumos. Dust off those Hüsker Dü albums and get ready. 21 and over.

8:00 p.m. // Neumos, 925 E Pike Street // Tickets: $15

FOLK ATTACK DESTROYS CITY: The Monsters of Folk--consisting of My Morning Jacket's Jim James, M. Ward, and Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis of Bright Eyes--plays the Paramount tonight. Great lineup, but supergroups always encounter what we call "the Travelling Wilburys Problem" -- somebody gets forgotten. What if you're a fan of My Morning Jacket and Bright Eyes but have no idea if M. Ward's up your alley? We're guessing it'll average out to be a great show, even if you're not so into about 1/3 of the group's lineage.

8:00 p.m. // Paramount Theatre, 911 Pine Street // Tickets: $28-$40

IT'S DIFFICULT TO EXPLAIN: Comedian Reggie Watts and director Tommy Smith present Transition, which combines Teen Wolf and Stevie Wonder with Watt's sound manipulations and storytelling.

It's a little bit hard to explain Reggie Watts. Wikipedia calls him a "multidisciplinary comedic performer," and while that's accurate, it fails to capture the weirdness of his material. What would you call this? Hip hop Andy Kaufman? Comedy Girl Talk?

8:00 p.m. // On The Boards, 100 West Roy Street // Tickets: $18-$25
