As Seattleites, we're expected to welcome the cloud-covered days of fall but for some reason (could be the autumn colds going around), our spirits have been dampened more than usual this seasonal change. While we aren’t legally allowed to prescribe anything to those who might feel the same, we can wholeheartedly recommend an activity that is sure to lift your spirits.
If the words Neutral Milk Hotel and free don’t relieve any autumnal sorrows you might be feeling, we’re afraid we probably won’t be able to help you. Tonight, we strongly encourage you to check out the free in-store performance by the great Eastern European enthusiasts and master-musicians, A Hawk and A Hacksaw. The brilliant band, which has toured with the likes of Beirut and features the immensely talented Jeremy Barnes, best known as the percussionist for Neutral Milk Hotel, will be at Sonic Boom for a 7 p.m. performance and will head a block over to the Tractor Tavern for a full, evening set. Get there early, as fans will flock in masses. (The Tractor show costs $13 and will begin at 9 p.m. Tickets available online, at the door or at Sonic Boom.)

Tuesdays are Muppet Days
