Brown-Bagging It, Full Throttle Bottles

If your mind wanders towards nostalgia while travelling along Airport Way past the Rainer Brewery Icehouse, like Pavlov’s dog you will be helpless but to recall that famous motorcycle riding a back road in Washington. Just a few miles down the road from the brewery in the Georgetown neighborhood is Full Throttle Bottles. Unlike the previous Brown Bag (ref. Bottleworks) the shop caters to the craft beer, cider, and wine enthusiast.

Sounding more like a grocery store and less like a bottleshop F.T.B. boasts 600+ craft beers, 300+ wines, and more ciders than there are apples in a barrel. The 'shop avoids the pedestrian sticker among the hop'o'philes by providing weekly tastings, ‘repeat customer’ rewards punch cards and their elephant ride situated against one wall. For one Roosevelt (10 cents to the layman) you can ride the mechanized pachyderm while you ponder that next bottle purchase or take a temporary escape to your childhood.

Full Throttle Bottles may only have been on the block for a couple of years but it continues the tradition of promoting a good sip in a neighborhood that inspires having a cold one.

Cheers
