AYKROYD HITS SODO: As mentioned last week, Dan Aykroyd will be at the Sodo liquor store tonight to promote his new Crystal Head Vodka. As the website introduction states, supposedly the skull-like bottle is reminiscent of the thirteen crystal heads that once scattered across the earth defying the laws of physics with their unmarked smooth surfaces. The crystal heads also "are said to contain vast knowledge and enlightenment capable of unlocking our most enigmatic ancient mysteries." Was Dan Aykroyd drinking too much vodka when he agreed to this? Regardless, head down to the Sodo for some Aykroyd hugs and autographs, and pick up your very own Indiana Jones Crystal Head vodka--and don't forget to feel enlightened.
4-6 p.m. // Washington State Liquor Store #101, 1702 4th Ave S // FREE (unless you buy a crystal head), 21+ //
WRITING QUEERIES: The small-press-and-indie-loving bookstore, Pilot Books, will be offering a free writing workshop, Writing Queeries, for queer and transgender folks who "want to create, experiment and build a supportive community around composition." This awesome free workshop will include a series of group exercises and discussions focused on helping those included perfect and hone their personal writing skills and processes. As noted, everyone is welcome.
7-9 p.m. // Pilot Books, 219 Broadway E, suite 28 (upstairs) // FREE
REMEMBERING JOHNNY CASH: Northwest Film Forum will be showing the documentary "Johnny Cash at San Quentin" tonight. The film features songs from the unforgettable show that resulted in Cash's first number one album on the pop charts, and plenty of great footage of him with the inmate audience. If you're a Cash fan, this is your night.
8 p.m. // Northwest Film Forum, 1515 12th Avenue // Tickets: $6-9.00
