Baron Oktoberfest

It's that time of the year again to cram your body into fine stitched fabric, consume large amounts of pickled cabbage, and slur your speech all in honor of a prince. If you think that we're talking about that 'Fest in Seattle you're mistaken. Far from Bavaria in the South Park neighborhood, Baron has been producing lagers since 2003. On tap at their Greenwood neighborhood taproom the Pillagers Pub is their fall lager, Oktoberfest.

What pours clear as glass and as copper as dusk produces an initially strong off-white amount of foam that quickly dies without much lace left behind. The aroma produces a mixture of oats, honey, and some minor orange from the hops. Taking a sip of this, we pick up bread, minor honey sweetness, and a nice toffee finish. This beer packs minor to medium weight on the palette and at 6.50% ABV would kill with a brat and some potato salad.

You can find Baron Oktoberfest in Bottleworks and other great grocers such as Whole Foods, PCC, select Fred Meyers, and Cental Markets. As always, if you can't find it at your store, ask for it and we're sure they'll pick up a case so you can take a few home for your own Oktoberfest. Prost!
