Patrick Swayze Dead at 57

This has been a bad year for pop culture figures who made their bones in the 70s and 80s. Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, and now Patrick Swayze, dead of pancreatic cancer. We're starting to get a little nervous about our childhood idols--Jennifer Beals hasn't made any health-themed announcements lately, has she?

It was a coincidence that Central Cinema was showing an all-Swayze ticket starting the night of his death. They're showing Dirty Dancing tonight at 7, and Road House every night until September 17 at 9:30.

They're marking his passing with a pre-show candlelight Swayze sing-along. We're guessing the song will be "Time of My Life" from Dirty Dancing, but it seems equally likely fans will sway along to "She's Like the Wind," which Swayze sang. Here's "Time of My Life," if you need to take a moment to revisit what made Swayze great.
